My investigation field is Molecular Ecology. It involves the use of traditional taxonomy and molecular taxonomy for the study of reptile species of Puerto Rico. The use of genetic tools to amplify mitochondrial DNA genes, such as cytochrome b  to be used as a molecular marker for species analysis and classification. Furthermore, the use of Bioinformatics to analyze and compare DNA sequences from Gekkonid lizards of Puerto Rico and other parts of the world. Finally, we will document changes in the lizards’ distribution throughout the Central-Western Region of the Island for further ecological studies of species interactions among this group of geckos.
