2006 Biotechnology Summer Camp
The Industrial Biotechnology Program welcomed 60 high school students representing 40 municipalities of Puerto Rico that will last from May 29 to June 7. This initiative was made possible through a generous donation from the Amgen Foundation. During the summer camp, an interdisciplinary team of science and engineering faculty assisted by undergraduate and graduate student mentors will develop workshops and field trips for the participants. Participating students will be exposed to the topics in the areas of career paths in biotechnology, molecular biology, microscopy, industrial biotech, marine biotech, and environmental biotech.
