Chemistry of natural products derived from plants with special interest in (1) medicinal plants of reputed ethno pharmaceutical activity and (2) phytoremediation capabilities. Research includes: study of chemical composition of plants, chemical analysis of plants decoctions for its medicinal activities and potential capabilities of absorbing contaminants from soils. Other interests: nanostructured colloidal metal oxide semiconductor thin films for energy conversion and spectroscopic applications. The research experience includes hands on experience with chromatography (TLC, column, HPLC, GC-MS), fluorescence, uv-vis and Near IR spectroscopy
