We visited the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport and attended a discussion about the many different jobs at the airport. They talked about the control tower and the type of work that was done there. They also told us the approximate amount of passengers and airplanes that arrived annually. Airplane and landing strip maintenance was explained in detail as well. A brief talk about the Ports Authority was held, in which the speaker discussed the major ports of the island, the functionality of the Mayaguez ferry, and the various fees paid by ships arriving at our ports. The speaker also explained the differences between comercial ships and tourist ships. Afterwards, our group was taken to a short tour of the landing strip.
