Laboratory of Cellular & Molecular Biology of Cancer

The Laboratory of Cellular & Molecular Biology of Cancer aims to:

  • elucidate the cellular and tissue changes associated with specific stages of
    carcinogenesis
  • to detect genetic modifiers fundamental to cancer
    susceptibility and progression
  • to define the molecular mechanisms involved in the pathogenesis of major human
    cancers
  • to develop rational approaches for cancer prevention and treatment.

This facility includes the necessary infrastructure for cell culture and analysis at the cellular
and molecular level. We combine this with computational biology tools to gain significant insight into the complex biological mechanisms of cancer. We are currently focusing on bone metastasis of breast cancer and rational drug design in ovarian cancer
