New Personnel

Claudia Acevedo:
Coming from Colombia, Claudia obtained a Master's Degree in Biology at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus. Actually she is working on a research about cancer cells and bone cells.

Boris Renteria:
From Columbia, Boris is in charge of the maintenance of the Materials Laboratory following the regulations of security and sanity. He is also responsible of the maintenance of the laboratory equipment as well as the handling of reagents according to the directives of OSHA and EPA.

Furthermore being the responsible of the laboratories, Renteria is working on a research titled "Synthesis and Magnetic Nanocomposites for Emi Applications" You can find more information about this here.

His future plans are to develop the specified activities for the good operation of the research laboratories and education in materials.

Surinder Pal Singh:

After working as an assistant professor from 1998 to 2000 at the GLA Institute of Management and Technology at India, Singh made his post doctoral fellow in Polymers and soft materials section, at the National Physical Laboratory, where he also worked as a scientist for approximately 3 years (2005-March 2008). He also made Post Doctoral Fellow at the Department of Physics at the University of Puerto Rico from 2002-2005. Actually he is working as an assistant professor here at the Department of Engineering Science and Materials.

His professional preparation is based on a Bachelor of Science at the Meerut University, Master of Science in Physics &Bipphysics at G.B. Pant University of Ag. & Tech. and a Ph.D. in Condensed Matter Physics at G.B. Pant University of Ag. & Tech.
