In particular, I am interested in comparing the natural proteomic profile of 2 key species of Caribbean corals (Acropora palmata and Orbicella faveolata) of the already samples taking during January and February (wet season) and August and September (dry season) of 2014. Two dimensional gel electrophoresis (2D-GE), mass spectrometry (MS/MS and RT-PCR will be applied to identify the differentially expressed proteins in both seasons. With the corresponding protein function, I will propose a mechanism or metabolic route that can predict which proteins turn on/off during changes in temperature.
