She is a graduate student and teaching instructor at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez, from where she obtained her Bachelors of Art in English Literature. During the past years she worked as an undergraduate and graduate tutor at the UPRM’s English Writing Center and as an editorial assistant for the literary journal Atenea. Additionally, she is the current vice-president of the English graduate student association, RUMEGA. Her research interest is in nineteenth century British Literature more specifically the Victorian period. She is interested in the position of women at the time as well as other socio-cultural topics, and gothic literature. Her current thesis research is in the female uncanny in the Victorian fin-de-siècle.
