JInitiator

JInitiator is a Java plug-in used by the Oracle E-Business Suite to power the Oracle forms. The administrative components of the Oracle E-Business Suite cannot be used without this plug-in.

To Install:

1. Descarge el file jinit13122.exe.zip a su computadora.
2. Cierre Internet Explorer o el Browser que utilize
3. Decomprima el zip file.
4. De click al ejecutable
5. Si sale una pantalla de seguridad preguntandole si desea correr el programa de click en el boton de "run".
6. Abra Internet Explorer o el Browser que utilize.
7. Desabilite cualquier popup blocker que tenga instalado en su computadora.
8. De login en patsi y pruebe nuevamente.

JInitiator was designed to be installed automatically but there are several issues particularly with Windows XP SP2:

Users may not have the Internet Explorer privileges or technical expertise to install ActiveX components
Users may not have the Operating System privileges or technical expertise to install applications.
Users may not have the technical expertise to allow pop-ups.
Time consuming to download the 7MB installer when accessing the applications for the first time.
Open Internet Explorer and configure the pop-up blocker, check to ensure that AOL, Google, etc pop-up blockers are not installed.

Troubleshooting:

1. Internet Explorer, Google or AOL pop-up blocker is preventing the JInitiator pop-up window from opening
2. The Java Certificate Window appears behind the Internet Explorer window so it appears that IE is frozen.
3. User does not have the privileges to install ActiveX Components
4. User does not have the privileges to install Applications.

1 Desktop Hardware Requirements
The Oracle E-Business Suite requires more computing power then the character-based systems UPR currently utilizes and the capacity of end-user machines can adversely affect performance. Different users have different computer requirements based on how they use their systems and the type of E-Business Suite screens they need to access regularly. Linux is not currently supported by the Oracle E-Business Suite.

1.1 Recommended Minimum
Exeter recommends that a user who accesses the system all day long have at least a 1 GHz Intel or equivalent processor, 256 - 512 MB of RAM (depending on the number of other application they are running), a screen resolution of 1024x768, and Windows 2000 or XP. Frequent users of Oracle Discoverer should have a 1.5 GHz Intel or equivalent processor and at least 512 MB of RAM.

1.2 Absolute Minimum
"Absolute Minimum" lists Oracle's published absolute minimum requirements to login to the Oracle E-Business Suite. Since Oracle has not updated the requirements in several years, they do not accurately reflect the increased resources that Microsoft Windows and Internet Explorer now require. Exeter recommends that all users who are regularly accessing the E-Business Suite should meet the "Recommended Minimums" to archive decent performance.

1.3 Mac OS X Support
MacOS X 10.2.6 or later, Safari, Internet Explorer 5.2.2. Apple Java 1.3.1 or Apple Java 1.4.1 Update 1 or higher required

1.4 Microsoft Windows
Browsers supported Internet Explorer 6 or later (Preferred Browser), Netscape Navigator 4.7.3, Netscape 7.2 and Mozilla 1.7 are currently being tested by Oracle but are not yet certified.
Linux is not currently supported by the Oracle E-Business Suite.
