On Monday, March 6, María Fernanda Díaz Basteris will be offering a public lecture, titled “Drawing the Diaspora, Graphic Narratives from San Juan, PR.”

Maria Fernanda Diaz Basteris is a doctoral student at the University of California-Davis. She has been doing ethnographic research about graphic novels written by Puerto Ricans, both in San Juan and New York. She will report on her interviews with the creators and producers of the series “1898: El Antillano.”

The lecture and discussion will be in both Spanish and English, and will take place within the Cultural Studies seminar taught by Dr. Gregory Stephens (INGL 6985).

The event will be at 5:00 p.m. in CH 224.
