The Department of English at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez (UPRM) seeks to fill a tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor starting July, 1, 2009. Applicants must have a PhD in literature and/or writing.  The professor hired would teach several sections of Advanced English and an introductory literature and composition course for freshmen. One year teaching experience is required.  

Experience teaching in an ESL environment as well as knowledge of Spanish is desirable. Teaching, research experience, and publications expected. Applicants should already have a PhD.
