Calendar of classes and activities


CEDIBI (Center for the Development of Information Literacy and Bibliographic Research) is an initiative developed to establish an Information Literacy Program which incorporates information literacy skills throughout the curriculum at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus. Information literacy skills are the set of skills needed to find, retrieve, analyze, evaluate and use information ethically and legally to accomplish a specific purpose. In order to reach the goal of incorporating information skills at our Campus, the following services are available to the academic community:

Formal Courses


AGRO 4019 Seminar on Horticulture (1 crd.)

Reports and discussions related to recent research in farm practices and crop production.

BIOL 3055 Bibliography and Library Research in Biological Sciences (1 crd.)

Introduction to the use of the library: the catalog, periodical, indexes, encyclopedias, dictionaries, reports, and term papers in the social sciences.

CISO 3145 Bibliography and Library Research in the Social Sciences (3 crds.)

Introduction to the use of the library: the catalog, periodical, indexes, encyclopedias, dictionaries, reports, and term papers in the social sciences.

INTD 3355 Research Methods in Libraries (3 crds.)

Libraries services and organization with emphasis on the Library of the Mayagüez Campus. Selection and use of bibliographic resources in print and non-print format. Searching strategies using traditional and technological methods to develop research topics.
