After a tremendous season, one in which they were undefeated, the Tarzans of the soccer team finished off post-season play as sub-champions of the University Athletic League (LAI by its Spanish acronym), falling to defeat in their final match against Turabo University 1-0. The soccer team finished the regular season with a record of 10-0-02.  They defeated the UPR Carolina soccer team in the semi-finals leading them to the final.

In baseball, the Tarzans saw their dreams fade away as they fell to defeat in 3 games against the Bayamón Caribbean University. The first game, which took place at El Maní Park, finished with a final score of 1-0 the visiting team taking home the victory.  The second game of the series was taken by UPRM 3-1, which extended the series to the maximum allowed, including a third and final game, which was lost 5-3.

In volleyball the women’s team fell in the series final against Sacred Heart University, in two games. The men’s team was defeated by Eastern University in both games.

In cross-country, representatives of UPRM from the women’s team finished seventh, while representatives from the men’s team managed to scrape up sixth place.  In the heptathlon Michelle Garnos was able to take fourth place for her Alma mater.

In tennis, both the men and women’s teams ended their post-season in the semi-final rounds.  UPR Río Piedras defeated the Tarzans, while the Janes were defeated by Sacred Heart University.
