Graduated from the University of Minnesota, Department of Plant Pathology in year 2000, and continued a position of Research Associate until 2003. Research experience includes the etiology and biology of fungal and soilborne plant pathogens and the integrated management of their diseases. Assistant Professor at the University of Puerto Rico since august 2004.

My present position has the following responsibilities:

  • "To lead the Regional Diagnostic Center Laboratory: Puerto Rico. "
  • To organize the pest and disease diagnostic service in Puerto Rico. "
  • To identify high risk biological pathogens in agricultural systems in Puerto Rico. "
  • Conduct and publish research related to avocado root rot. "
  • To study the etiology and management of vine decline in watermelon "
  • To survey and develop a database of diseases and pests of Phaseolus vulgaris, Glycine max in Puerto Rico. "
  • To search for funds to support research programs.

Integration of cover crops and biocontrol agents to control soilborne diseases

Etiology of watermelon vine decline
