“Inspiring the Future Mechanical Engineers of Puerto Rico”
ME Girl Day is a one-day camp organized by the Association of Females in Mechanical Engineering (AFIM by its spanish abreviation) at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez (UPRM).
Every year, we open the doors of our department to welcome middle and high school students with the purpose of sparking their curiosity about mechanical engineering and showing them that they too can build, innovate, and lead in this field.
ME Girl Day is an educational and motivational experience where participants enjoy interactive workshops, hands-on demonstrations, and inspiring talks. During the event, students:
- Discover what a mechanical engineer does.
- Participate in design, manufacturing, and problem-solving activities.
- Meet university students and engineering professionals.
- Learn about the opportunities offered by UPRM for future engineers.
