Thesis: Determinación de Uniformidad en Formulaciones Farmacéuticas usando Espectroscopía de Infrarrojo Cercano con Reflectancia Difusa y Tecnología de Polvos”, Mayo 2002.

Manuel Popó Amú passed away in 2021, in his native Colombia. He was a devoted family man who came to our Campus with his wife (Dilandia Tobar and his twins (Manuel Alejandro and David Manuel). After completing his M.S. in Chemistry, they spent some time in Canada before returning to his country.

One remarkable investigation in our group was performed by Manuel in collaboration with undergraduate students “Blend uniformity analysis using stream sampling and near infrared spectroscopy”. This research has been used as a baseline for the majority of our research group.

Manuel left a strong legacy through his research that also included a paper chemistry “Calidad de papel artesanal a partir de fibras no convencionales de cinco especies colombianas” and also through his family, and the memory of his students in Colombia, and friends.
