Research Focus:
Electrochemical sensing for biomedical and environmental monitoring, with applications in non-invasive diagnostics and water quality assessment.
Current Projects:
Xavier will be involved in several interdisciplinary projects that integrate redox-active materials and electrochemical detection techniques:
- Biomedical Sensing: Development of a sweat-based sensor for lactic acid detection, aimed at monitoring physiological stress and athletic performance.
- Environmental Sensing: Electrochemical platforms for the detection of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and heavy metals in water systems, contributing to efforts in real-time water quality monitoring and contaminant tracking.
Technical Interests:
Electroanalytical chemistry, biosensor development, wearable diagnostics, water remediation technologies, and redox chemistry at biointerfaces.
