FACULTY RESOURCE NETWORK (FRN)

The Faculty Resource Network (FRN) at New York University is an award-winning professional development initiative that sponsors programs for faculty members from a consortium of over 50 colleges and universities. The Network hosts lectures, symposia, and intensive seminars, all of which are designed to improve the quality of teaching and learning at its member and affiliate institutions.

The next activities of the Faculty Resource Network (FRN) of New York University (NYU) are presented below. The participation of the faculty in these activities is of great intellectual and professional benefit for our professors and also helps the University in its function of providing professional development opportunities to our faculty. Professors who wish to stay informed about the FRN can subscribe to the Listserver at http://www.nyu.edu/frn.

  • Applications to participate in the Network Summer 2019 Seminars are now available. This activity will take place at NYU, from June 10-14, 2019. The activity will include twelve excellent seminars. A full description of the activity and the seminars is posted on the FRN website: http://www.nyu.edu/frn. The way to apply is described at http://www.nyu.edu/frn/programs.events/enrichment/Summer.2016.application.html. The member of the faculty interested in participating will specifically request the seminar of interest. The deadline to submit the application is Monday, February 11, 2019. The request must include a letter of endorsement from the director of the department, or the dean or dean of the faculty, or the corresponding unit (Dean of Academic Affairs or Dean of Students). The Summer Network 2016 Seminars includes the following benefits for participants: free tuition, lodging in a single room in dormitories of the university (only for the participant who lives more than 50 miles from the seat) and breakfast and lunch.
  • I also want to announce the Scholar in Residence program that will be held from Wednesday, January 29 to Friday, May 8, 2020, at the NYU campus in New York City. Associated with this program are two scholarships: Calvin B. Grimes and Michael E. Fassiotto. I recommend you read about this program at http://www.nyu.edu/frn. The deadline to apply for this program is Monday, September 23, 2019.
