Research

  • I have a broad interest in the ecological and evolutionary mechanisms that are responsible for the observed level of genetic variation within and among marine species.  My research approach combines empirical and computational tools to address questions at the population and species level.

Current Projects:

  • Biogeography of marine taxa
  • Copepod ecology and evolution
  • Maxillopod phylogeny
  • Mitochondrial genome evolution
  • Anthropogenic effects on the distribution of marine taxa
  • I encourage potential students and other researchers with similar interests to contact me for further information about these projects.

Courses

  • CMOB 8676 Systematics of Marine Invertebrates
  • CIMA 6618 Biological Oceanography
  • CMOB 8998 Special Topics: DNA data analysis
