During these tough times with the COVID-19 pandemic, we have encountered a second crisis: rampant femicide in Puerto Rico. Numbers from various sources indicate that there have been cases of gender violence every week; two of them occurring within the last week. Sexism in Puerto Rico is not a recent problem, but one that has been embedded in our culture for years. Therefore, we would like to solidarize ourselves with the families of Andrea Ruiz Costas and Keishla Rodriguez Ortiz, and give support to people who may be going through similar situations.
