“My name is María del Carmen Ramos Álamo and I am a sixth year student majoring in Discrete Mathematics, Computer Sciences, and Physics at the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus. I’ve decided to pursue graduate studies in Discrete Mathematics and Acoustics.
So far I have participated in two internships: in 2016 summer to the Internship in Biomedical Research, Informatics, and Computer Science at the Department of Biomedical Informatics, University of Pittsburgh; and in 2018 summer to the U.S. Department of Energy National Nuclear Security Administration’s Minority Serving Institutions Partnership Program Summer Internship Program at Los Alamos National Laboratories. This summer I have been accepted to the Research in Industrial Projects for Students Program by the Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics in collaboration with the Institute for Mathematical Sciences at the National University of Singapore.”
