Barbara Gonzalez-Rivera is an Undergraduate Computer Engineering Student at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez. Selected as a Grace Hopper Celebration Scholar in 2017, and formal president of IEEE Women in Engineering UPRM student chapter, Barbara focuses on raising the percentage of women in engineering at her university. Currently, she is an ambassador for TECHNOLOchicas, an initiative to inspire Latina youth into computing fields. In addition, she works at UPRM Hacks App Inventor to teach high school students how to create their own Android applications. This summer she will be interning at Bank of America in Charlotte, NC.
