Welcome to the Coastal Resilience Center of Excellence

Our mission in the Coastal Resilience Center (CRC) is to improve the social, infrastructural, economical and the natural enviornment’s resilience towards natural disasters (such as flashfloods, hurricanes and any other abrupt change in weather) within coastal zones by conducting research and educating the community, and at the same time, gathering more information alongside the DHS Coastal Hazards Center of Excellence.

Here in the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez, Dr. Ismael Pagán Trinidad is responsible for developing “Education for Improving Resiliency of Coastal Infrastructure” , where the main goal is to educate the coastal communities on Coastal Resilient Infrastructure (CRI), by transferring state of practice knowledge to stakeholders through formal and informal learning experiences.
