About

Our mission in the Coastal Resilience Center (CRC) is to improve the social, infrastructural, economical and the natural environment’s resilience towards natural disasters (such as flash floods, hurricanes and any other abrupt change in weather) within coastal zones by conducting research and educating the community, and at the same time, gathering more information alongside the DHS Coastal Hazards Center of Excellence.

Here in the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez, Prof. Ismael Pagán Trinidad is responsible for developing “Education for Improving Resilience of Coastal Infrastructure” , where the main goal is to educate the coastal communities on Coastal Resilient Infrastructure (CRI), by transferring state of practice knowledge to stakeholders through formal and informal learning experiences.
