This annual recognition is awarded to students who achieved the highest academic standards and satisfy the following criteria:
1. Have completed at least one year as a regular student on the University Campus
from Mayagüez.
2. Have a general academic index of at least 3.30 at the end of the second semester
of the academic year prior to the award.
3. Have been a regular student during the academic year prior to the award, or have
been enrolled in the last and only courses remaining to complete the degree.
4. Not have earned D or F grades in the previous academic year.
5. Not having partially withdrawn (W) in the academic year prior to the award.
6. Not having been sanctioned for disciplinary reasons.
