Technical Assistance Program for Grant Management

 

PAGM-TAP is a program of the Business and Economic Development Center (CNDE) at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus, funded by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA).

The main objective of this program is to enhance the grant management and compliance capacity of government beneficiaries, including those receiving funds from the EDA as well as from other federal agencies.

 

Our Objectives

  • Improve grant management through training and technical assistance.

  • Ensure compliance with federal agencies’ reporting and documentation requirements.

  • Promote the efficient use of technological tools for grant administration.

  • Ensure that at least half of the beneficiaries improve their processes and submit their reports within established deadlines.

 

 

Vision

To be the leading reference in technical assistance and training in grant management for government entities in Puerto Rico, contributing to the transparent, efficient, and effective handling of federal funds for the benefit and comprehensive development of communities.

To strengthen the grant management capacity of federal fund recipients for Puerto Rico’s economic recovery through specialized training and technical assistance, ensuring the efficient and responsible use of federal funds for sustainable and resilient development.

Enhanced Compliance: Ensure that 100% of beneficiaries submit reports and forms on time.
Certification of Officials: Train and certify 30 officials in compliance procedures.

Offer training sessions on federal regulations and procedures, both live and pre-recorded.
Technical Assistance to Optimize Grant Management
Provide technical assistance to current beneficiaries of EDA programs and other federal agencies to achieve optimal compliance. We will emphasize maximizing the use of technology for more efficient grant management.

What is the General Purpose of PAGM-TAP?
To improve grant management after receiving funds, in order to maximize the use of resources allocated for economic recovery and economic development.
What are direct costs?
These are costs that can be specifically assigned to a project, such as materials, equipment, or salaries of personnel dedicated exclusively to that project.
What are indirect costs?
Indirect costs are those that cannot be easily associated with a specific project but are necessary for the general operation of an organization. Examples include operational expenses, depreciation, and administrative salaries.
