Who We Are
A unified aerospace chapter born from the merger of SPARC and SEDS, open to every major and active since 2016. We design lunar architectures, build CubeSats, run aerospace workshops, and compete at NASA level.
What we stand for
NASA-level rigor on every deliverable.
Open to every major at UPRM.
Mentorship, outreach, and real paths into industry.
Ask the hard questions, iterate until it flies.
A generation of Puerto Rican aerospace engineers shaping missions on the Moon, in orbit, and beyond.
Deliver NASA-grade designs, launch student-built hardware, and sustain the UPRM aerospace pipeline.
Aerospace Council
The Aerospace Council is the engineering core of Sparc UPRM – ASC. Each project is a standalone team with its own leads and timeline, sharing the same engineering rigor and path to NASA-level competition.
NASA Competition
RASC-AL — Revolutionary Aerospace Systems Concepts, Academic Linkage — is our flagship NASA competition. Since 2016, Sparc UPRM – ASC has secured three first-place titles, plus Best in Theme and Honorable Mention awards.

Active Sparc members can reserve Space Lab time for project work, reviews, or workshop sessions.
Reservation system launching Fall 2026.
History
SEDS founds its UPRM chapter — technical competition, hardware, RASC-AL submissions begin.
SPARC grows as the community and outreach arm.
SEDS focuses on competition hardware and lunar architectures.
Both organizations merge into a single Aerospace Student Council. One team, open to every major.
