• Hometown: Toa Alta, Puerto Rico • Previous Education: University of Puerto Rico at Río Piedras • Degree obtained: B.A. in Physical Geography • Graduate Advisor: Clark Sherman, Ph.D. • Area of Specialization: Geological Oceanography • Research Interest: coastal geology & geomorphology to Coastal zone management.
Born and raised on this stunning island in the city of Bayamon. Ever since I was a little boy I knew I wanted to become someone that helps in the conservation of our natural resources thus, I decided to pursue my undergraduate studies on Geography. During these years I got involved in many different projects and organizations that focus on the conservation of our natural resources and ecosystem like: the Sierra Club, Conservation Trust of Puerto Rico, Manatee conservation center and recently started working on a NASA funded project: Human Impact on Coastal Ecosystems (HICE-PR). All of theses experiences have given me a diverse academic background, which has helped me center my goals and pursue my Graduate Studies at the Marine Science department. Here, I hope to complete my master’s degree on Geological Oceanography creating a project that integrates all aspects of Marine and Coastal Conservation and Management. Currently, I seek to develop a project that helps understand and define the human impact on coastal ecosystems from a Geological and Biological perspective to aid in the administration, conservation use of our natural resources.
