With the mission of promoting bioengineering and biomedical engineering within our campus and country, we aim to create a forum in which undergraduate students present research conducted at the campus alongside faculty in areas such as tissue engineering, cancer biology, bioinformatics, and medical devices. For this reason, the BioX Symposium was established, an initiative developed by the IEEE EMBS executive board—not only to showcase the diverse bioengineering projects at UPRM, but also to attract incoming students to this field, engage with faculty from the Graduate Program in Bioengineering, and connect with the biosciences industry in Puerto Rico.
