Hurricane Maria produced many landslides on the river basins of Puerto Rico that increased the discharge of suspended sediments in coastal areas. However, spatial and temporal variations of these processes are not well understood. An undergraduate research by Yesenia M. Rivera-Lopez evaluated this topic for Arecibo and Añasco rivers and the results were presented to the geology faculty in Fall 2022 as part of the requirements in the course Geol 4055 (Undergraduate Research II). The advisor of this project was Fernando Gilbes Santaella.
