Flying to Puerto Rico

Most mayor airlines fly to Puerto Rico from the continental United States and from mayors hubs in Europe. You can fly non stop to Puerto Rico from Frankfurt, Madrid, Chicago, Atlanta, Miami, Houston, Los Angeles, Philadelphia and New York.

International flights arrive to Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (Airport Code: SJU) in the town of Carolina which is approximatly a 2 hour drive (top) from our university in the town of Mayagüez.

The second largest airport in Puerto Rico is Rafael Hernandez (Airport Code: BQN) in the town of Aguadilla. Aguadilla is only 30 minutes from the University. The Aguadilla airport is mainly a cargo airport currently the only airlines flying to this airport are North American Airlines from John F. Kennedy (Airport Code: JFK) in New York , Continental Airlines from Newark International Airport (Airport Code: EWR), Pan American Airlines from Orlando Sanford Airport (Airport Code: SFB), and Fort Lauderdale, and Jet Blue from JFK in New York.

You can get a charter flight from Luis Muñoz Marín Airport to the local airport in the city of Mayagüez just a few minutes from the university. You may also find charter flights from Luis Muñoz airport to Aguadilla or the local airport of Merceditas in the town of Ponce which is about one hour and a half from Mayagüez. American Eagle a subsidiary of American Airlines has daily flights to Mayagüez.
