General Description: This research consists in optimizing the geometry and materials of sandwich panels to get an improvement on impact energy absorption. The structural design is to be implemented for aerospace, automotive and naval applications. The research activities include CAD design, geometry optimization, Finite Element Analyses, 3D printing and experimental tests.
