General Description: Work on the discovery of new antifungals using the drug repositioning strategy with computational tools and subsequent in vitro analysis. The drugs are expected to inhibit the growth of human pathogenic fungi (Candidas spp., Cryptococcus spp., Aspergillus spp.). Once a potential candidate is found, test will be performed using mammalian cells in order to evaluate the cytotoxicity of the drug.
