- Must be a regular student at any academic program at UPRM
- Have passed the AGRO 3011 & AGRO 3013 (Fundamentals of Soil Science) and CIAN 3011 & CIAN 3012 (Fundamentals of Animal Science) courses (required prerequisites)
- A GPA of at least 2.75 (desirable)
- Submit the complete Application Form and academic transcript by February 21, 2024 (required)
- Participate in interview with project director (required)
- Be available to participate in summer 8-week internship (Summer 2024)
- Enroll in an Introductory SuMAS course modules offered by UPRM and Cornell CALS faculty (Online course with approximate duration of 2 weeks) during summer 2024
- Students will receive a stipend during the experiential learning internship. Most of the expenses during the internship will be covered
- Participate in a six-week summer experiential learning internship at Cornell-CALS during summer 2024.
- Engage with Cornell University’s faculty and receive instruction of lectures in English language.
- Engage in a “learn-by-doing” approach by working side-by-side with research teams composed of faculty, graduate, and undergraduate students who are studying different aspects of SuMAS-AI.
