Guillermo Ortiz-Colón earned a PhD in ruminant nutrition from Michigan State University. Currently, he is the extension dairy nutrition specialist at UPRM, where his work focuses on promoting adaptive strategies that minimize the carbon footprint of dairy production, while helping dairy farmers been more resilient to climate change challenges. He is a member of the American Registry of Professional Animal Scientists where he is part of the editorial board of the scientific journal The Professional Animal Scientist.
