Postdoctoral Position at University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez
The new Center of Excellence for Transportation and Logistics (CETL) at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher position in freight transportation. The postdoc is expected to contribute to the development of an integrated, multimodal freight analysis framework for Puerto Rico, supporting advanced research in freight transportation planning, logistics, and data analysis. The position is designed as a two-year mentored research-intensive experience working with Drs. Daniel Rodriguez Roman and Hector J. Carlo. This position is aligned with the CETL’s vision to serve as a catalyst to advance talent and innovation in the transportation and logistics community to promote long-term social and economic development in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.
The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for:
· Planning, coordinating, and conducting original research on freight transportation topics, including freight data collection methods, freight transportation planning and forecasting, freight logistics, or other related subjects.
· Disseminating research findings through peer-reviewed publications, technical reports, and conference presentations.
· Supervising graduate and undergraduate research students and managing research projects.
· Collaborating on research proposals and interdisciplinary projects.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in civil engineering or a related field at the time of appointment. The ideal candidate would have a strong publication record and be fluent in Spanish. Required qualifications include expertise in freight transportation topics, including freight data collection and analysis, transportation planning and forecasting, or freight logistics.
