As a student at UPRM’s Center of Excellence for Transportation & Logistics (CETL), I had the opportunity to work on an exciting prototype that examined how distributed AI agents can enhance logistics coordination in ever-changing supply chain scenarios. Our team managed to put together a functional demo that linked an LLM-based orchestrator with backend services representing key players in the logistics space (shipping, warehousing, and ground transport). This experience really honed my skills in AI solutions development, involving agent orchestration, API development, and system integration. More importantly, it opened my eyes to just how powerful well-designed, interoperable systems can be when they’re tailored to meet the real-world challenges of logistics. I truly believe we have the potential to create tools that improve coordination, minimize delays, and make our supply chains more resilient. It’s an exciting field to be a part of.
