Our Materials Science and Engineering Clubs consists of fifteen (15) participating schools,
mainly from the west side of Puerto Rico.
Our Outreach program provides at least two (2) visits per school each semester to demonstrate concepts related to material science and nanotechnology. The provided material is presented through educational modules and interactive demonstrations, which content meets the established standards in science and engineering within the Puerto Rico public school system.

The CREST Student Summer Camp and Teacher investigation Program will be held from June 03 -28, 2019. Application submission for this four (4) week program will be open until April 15th.

Boys and Girl Scouts STEM Activity
Boys and Girl Scouts, guests and volunteers from different parts of the island are expected to participate in this conference, designed to introduce and expose these students in the areas of Science,Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Interactive demonstrations will be offered by CREST and several student associations in the UPR Mayagüez Campus, Rafael A. Mangual Coliseum.

UPRM Open House
The UPRM Open House held in the Rafael A. Mangual Coliseum is expected to received over 500 high school students interested in obtaining a bachelor’s degree. CREST will be participating with the school of Engineering by giving interactive demonstrations and orientations regarding Materials Science and Engineering.

Annual Materials Science and Engineering Club Meeting
Fifteen (15) Middle / High School MSE Clubs are expected to participate in the Materials Science and Engineering Annual Club Meeting Over 540 students are expected to participate in a lecture given by Dr. Madeline Torres, Co-Director and professor of the Chemical Engineering Department, followed by the construction of a mobile Macrophage.
