
About The College of Engineering
The College of Engineering at the University of Puerto Rico Mayagüez (UPRM) is one of four UPRM Colleges in the Mayagüez Campus. With a historic enrollment of about 5,000 undergraduate and over 250 graduate students, the College is also the largest of its kind in Puerto Rico. It is one of the top producers of Hispanic engineers in the United States of America, according to the American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE). Our Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Industrial, Software, Computer Science, and Mechanical Engineering programs are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, www.abet.org. Also, our Surveying and Topography program is accredited by the Applied and Natural Science Accreditation Commission of ABET and the Computer Science and Engineering program has a dual accreditation with the Computing Science and Engineering Accreditation Commissions of ABET, www.abet.org.

Summer Engineering Camps
The UPRM College of Engineering offers its Summer Engineering Camps as part of its Introduction to Engineering Program. These camps are designed for high school students, current university students, and educators interested in exploring the diverse engineering disciplines taught at UPRM. Through interactive activities, hands-on experiences, and specialized workshops, participants gain valuable insights into the field of engineering, enhancing their knowledge and skills while making informed decisions about their academic and professional futures.

Placement Office
The Placement Department of the UPR, RUM is one of the departments that belongs to the Dean of Students. With the purpose of contributing and helping the student in their occupational-professional development, complementing their academic training.

COOP Program
The Engineering Cooperative Education Program (COOP) at UPR Mayaguez is a planned and progressive educational program that gives students the opportunity of exploring their career interests in jobs related to the eld of study being pursued in college.

R2DEEP
It is an initiative of the Pre-Engineering Program that combines recruitment, training and retention strategies with the objective of improving the quantity and quality of students who apply for, enter and complete programs offered at the College of Engineering of the Mayagüez University Campus of the University. from Puerto Rico.

ECoS
ECoS provides companies the opportunity to promote their work, give students, faculty, and engineering professionals the opportunity to learn about the latest developments in STEM related fields, and serve as a catalyst for strengthening relations between university, industry, and community.
