Traditional Admission

Students who will enter university immediately upon completing their high school, will take or will take the PAA and/or SAT test and who by calculating their General Application Index (IGS) understand that they have a probability of admission to the academic program they aspire to to complete.

Non-Traditional Admission

Students who apply for non-traditional admission to the university and have a minimum GPA of 2.00, and are identified in one of the following options: student with talent or special interest, student in the university articulation program, student in the dual enrollment, specialized school student, international student, student from marginalized sectors.

Graduate Students

At UPRM every program has its own admission standards, but the Office of Graduate Studies handles all graduate admissions. Therefore, in order to apply, one must contact the Office of Graduate Studies. It is the best starting point for information on financial aid, graduateprograms, applications, and more.

Transfers

There are 3 types of transfers:

1) Articulated Transfer – These are academic programs that you start in one campus by taking some basic or required courses and then enter a particular program in another campus.

2) External Transfer – If you are a student at a UPR campus and have not completed an academic degree, but are interested in continuing your studies in another campus, either in the same program you were in or in a different one.

3) Internal Transfer – This is when you are interested in changing Faculty and/or study program within the same campus.
