Scholarships
ARMY ROTC SCHOLARSHIPS
Whether you’re a college-bound high school student or already attending a college or university, Army ROTC has scholarships available. Scholarships are awarded based on a student’s merit and grades, not financial need.
Army ROTC scholarships consist of:
- Two-, three-, and four-year scholarship options based on the time remaining to complete your degree.
- $12,000 per year for Room and board
- $1,200 per year for books and supplies
- $420 stipend per academic month for living expenses
Army ROTC scholarships include a. Non-scholarship Cadets in ROTC advanced courses (3rd and 4th year) also qualify. The GRFD scholarship is offered to those cadets that are guaranteed Reserves. For more info click HERE
Simultaneous Membership Program (SMP)
“Simultaneous” means students who are at the same time:
- full-time college students (sophomore, junior, senior, or grad students)
- currently serving (or willing to enlist) in the USAR or ARNG
- enrolled in Army ROTC
Upon college graduation, you will be commissioned as an officer in the Army and have the option of either serving full-time on Active Duty, or part-time in the Army Reserves or Army National Guard.
- Drill pay ($320.12)
- ROTC stipend ($420)
- GI Bill Kicker ($350)
- Officer training in your unit
- Non-deployable status—your college education won’t be interrupted by deployment
Green to Gold (G2G)
The Army Green to Gold Program is designed to offer Enlisted Soldiers in the Army the opportunity to earn a commission as Army Officers. This program offers enlisted Soldiers several unique ways to earn a baccalaureate or graduate degree.
- Green to Gold Scholarship Option — For Soldiers who are considering leaving Active Duty to attend college while receiving full tuition or room and board (capped), flat rate book payment and a monthly stipend.
- Green to Gold Non-Scholarship — For Soldiers who are considering leaving Active Duty to attend college while receiving a monthly stipend.
- Green to Gold Active Duty Option — For Soldiers who want to remain on Active Duty and attend college.

G2G Requirements
- U.S. Citizen (non-waiverable)
- Age – Be under 31 years of age on 31 December of the year you complete all requirements for a commission and a college baccalaureate degree. This is a statutory requirement and there are no waivers authorized.
- Cannot have been convicted of a Domestic Violence Crime
- Have a minimum of 2 years Active Duty as well as 3 months of Active Duty for every one month of specialized training (waiver can be requested)
- GT score of 110 or greater
- Be a High School Graduate or equivalent
- Cumulative High School or College GPA of 2.5
- Letter of Acceptance to School of Choice offering Army ROTC
- Letter of Acceptance from the PMS of that Army ROTC Battalion
- Favorable National Agency Check (or have initiated the action)
- DODMERB Medical Qualification
- Be eligible to Reenlist
- Not be a conscientious objector
- No more than 3 dependents including spouse (waiverable)
- Four year applicants must have a minimum ACT score of 19 or a minimum SAT score of 920 (waivers can be requested)
*ALL Scholarships and Incentives are contingent upon an applicant being medically qualified, physically fit, and in attendance for all ROTC functions*
