JOB FAIR
On Friday, March 8, 2024, the CRECEN program held its first Job Fair at the College of Business Administration of the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez (RUM) with strong support from over 100 individuals seeking opportunities in the job market, as well as representatives from 21 prominent companies and organizations, including PepsiCo, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Oriental Bank, Eaton Corporation, the US Army, RUM, and the Center for Business and Economic Development (CNDE), among others.

Impact of the Fair on the Community
At the CRECEN Job Fair, attendees were able to speak directly with recruiters about available job offers and showcase their skills and qualities. This event demonstrated CRECEN's mission to improve job opportunities and professional development for unemployed individuals on the island. The presence of executives and important officials, such as the Chancellor of the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus, and representatives from the CDBG-DR Program of the Department of Housing, highlights the importance and scope of the program. The Fair not only helped individuals find employment but also emphasized the importance of collaboration between academic institutions, government entities, and the private sector to enhance Puerto Rico's economy.
Event Statistics
Participant Experience
“It was a spectacular experience. I learned about the various professions within Business Administration, and sharing that knowledge about how to work in the third sector was very rewarding.”

“There are a wide variety of positions and opportunities. This type of fair helps consolidate everything in one place and connect with valuable resources, rather than doing it individually, which is more difficult. For me, it has been a very good experience; I’ve met professionals who know other people, and we’ve done some networking. It has exceeded my expectations.”
–Jaime Vilaró
CRECEN Participant
“I didn’t expect such a large turnout of students, alumni, or external individuals from the University, so I’m very happy to have participated; it was an excellent experience.”
