La “American Chemical Society” (ACS), presidida por la Dra. Ramonita Diaz Ayala – COLEGIAL, celebró el 46th “Senior Technical Meeting – Chemistry: Where ideas collide and transformations begin” los días 3 y 4 de noviembre de 2023, en el centro de convenciones del hotel Costa Bahía de Guayanilla. Siendo esta, una de las sociedades científicas más grandes del mundo, tuvo su primera reunión presencial en Puerto Rico, desde el 2019, con una participación de alrededor de 300 personas. La Universidad de Puerto Rico en Mayagüez, tuvo una gran participación de estudiantes graduados y subgraduados, acompañados de sus mentores. Cabe destacar que El Colegio tuvo una representación magistral, destacando 23 presentaciones orales y 14 presentaciones de afiche. La joven Clarisa N. Martínez Lisboa estudiante de UPRAg, quien forma parte del grupo de investigación del Dr. Samuel P. Hernández Rivera (UPRM), se galardonó con el tercer lugar en los afiches. Queda demostrado la calidad y el compromiso de nuestros estudiantes con sus investigaciones y con el ANTES, AHORA Y SIEMPRE…. COLEGIO.

46th American Chemical Society Senior Technical Meeting
“Chemistry: Where ideas collide and transformations begin”
The American Chemical Society (ACS), chaired by Dr. Ramonita Diaz Ayala – COLEGIAL, celebrated the 46th “Senior Technical Meeting – Chemistry: Where ideas collide and transformations begin” on November 3 and 4, 2023, at the convention center of the Hotel Costa Bahía in Guayanilla. Being one of the largest scientific societies in the world, it celebrated its first presential meeting in Puerto Rico, since 2019, with a participation of around 300 scientists, students and researchers. The University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez (UPRM) had aremarkable participation of graduate and undergraduate students, accompanied by their mentors. Our UPRM students and researchers, together with their professors and mentors, had an impactful performance, featuring 23 oral (platform) presentations and 14 poster presentations. Clarisa N. Martínez Lisboa, an UPRAg undergraduate student, who is also a member of Dr. Samuel P. Hernández Rivera’s (UPRM) research group, was awarded third place in the posters section. These achievements and scientific performance by our students and professors demonstrated once again the high quality and commitment of our students to their research carrying our institutional flag of “ANTES, AHORA Y SIEMPRE…. COLEGIO”.
