The short film La Perla en que Vivimos…, created by award-winning filmmaker Guillermo Gómez Álvarez in collaboration with Colectivo PerlArte, has been accepted to the CineMásCorto film festival and will be shown in Caguas, San Juan, and Mayaguez in the month May. This film, produced by the Oral History Lab and funded by a Digital Justice Grant from the American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS), documents the creation of a mural painted on the main entrance to the PerlArte gallery, which was designed to bring attention to some of the challenges La Perla faces such as gentrification and disaster capitalism.
