The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is a not-for-profit educational and service organization that empowers women to succeed and advance in the field of engineering, and to be recognized for their life-changing contributions as engineers and leaders. Founded in 1950, SWE is the driving force that establishes engineering as a highly desirable career for women through an exciting array of training and development programs, networking opportunities, scholarships, outreach and advocacy activities, and much more.

SWE UPRM

The Society of Women Engineers or SWE UPRM was founded in 1971 to offer women their deserved place and voice within the engineering industry. We are a dynamic organization that evolves with the challenges and opportunities offered by engineering and technology today. SWE UPRM is made up of women and men, engineers and non-engineers dedicated to identify opportunities for women in engineering.

SWE at UPRM is a student chapter of the National SWE, which is divided into 10 regions. We belong to the Region D (Southeast Region). Our region covers Florida, Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.

Our goals at SWE UPRM are to provide our members with professional and personal development activities, expose our members to companies for potential employment and professional networking and not only make an impact within our organization but also throughout campus as well.
