Description
The Department of Marine and Coastal Environmental Science (MCES) at Texas A&M University at Galveston invites applications for two full-time, tenure-track faculty positions with a 9-month academic appointment at the Assistant Professor level for Fall 2022. We encourage applications from outstanding candidates who focus on coastal science and resilience, broadly meaning examination of the natural dynamics of coastal and marine systems and their vulnerability to climate change. Successful candidates will develop and maintain externally-funded, independent research programs and contribute to undergraduate and graduate programs through teaching and mentorship of students. We welcome applicants with strong interest in collaborative and interdisciplinary research. The MCES department comprises a dynamic and interdisciplinary faculty with research interests in natural, social and applied scientific problems within coastal systems, but broader research interests span the near shore zone to the deep sea and polar environments. Texas A&M University at Galveston is an ocean-oriented branch campus of Texas A&M University which educates nearly 2,300 undergraduate and graduate students in a unique blend of marine and maritime programs, including majors in science, business, engineering, liberal arts, and transportation. Qualifications
Ph.D. in marine science or related fields; and preferred qualifications: postdoctoral or other related job experience; and a strong publication record.
