In Puerto Rico there are many major events that create tons of trash. This trash contains lots of recyclables that end up in a local landfill. The concept of our solution consists of developing a truck and a simple booth to be placed at these events. The booth, and its staff, while collecting the “trash” during the event, will incentive people to bring over their recyclables. So, people would receive rewards for bringing over the recyclables. The truck, apart from carrying the booth and equipment, will contain a machine of our design. This transportable machine has the task to grind the recyclables so they’re easier to transport and as a side effect, the grinded material will take less space so more mass can be transported. After being processed, these recyclables materials will be stored until they can be exported.
