On March 17, the Mayagüez Campus (RUM) hosted the second Fair of Graduate Schools of the University of Puerto Rico (UPR). In it, the graduate offer of the Campus was announced, as well as that of the Río Piedras and Medical Sciences campuses of the UPR, who said they were present at the Fair.
Prof. Héctor O. López, director of the Office of Graduate Studies, indicated that the campus seeks to increase the interest of students to pursue master’s and doctoral studies on campus. Also, he informed that the Fair had representation of all graduate programs, which include 28 offers in various areas, some unique in the Campus, and that are not offered in any other campus of the UPR, nor in the private university. Some of these are: Agricultural Sciences, Kinesiology, Bioengineering, Marine Sciences, and Cultural and Humanistic Studies, among others.
At the fair, the Doctoral Program in Information and Computing Sciences and Engineering (CISE) had the active participation of our graduate students who made their research known, in order to encourage other students to pursue their graduate studies in this discipline.
