CAEP advances excellent educator preparation through evidence-based accreditation that assures quality and supports continuous improvement to strengthen P-12 student learning.

Established in 1911, UPRM has evolved into a comprehensive institution with over 50 undergraduate and 36 graduate programs in Engineering, Agricultural Sciences, Arts and Sciences, and Business Administration. The Teacher Preparation Program under the Dean of Academic Affairs, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the College of Business Administration share responsibility for initial teacher preparation in 12 subject areas. The Department of Agricultural Education in the College of Agriculture is responsible for all aspects of agriculture teacher preparation.
