PhD student María José Buendía Otero presented her research during the Isolation and Purification session at ISEV 2026. Her work focuses on the isolation of tissue-specific matrix-bound vesicles and their application in biosensing, demonstrating retention of tissue-specific biomarkers and enabling rapid, label-free electrochemical detection.
PhD student Deisy J. Jiménez presented her research during the poster session at ISEV 2026. Her work, “Engineering bioinstructive layer-by-layer films through the integration of extracellular vesicles,” introduces a biomaterial strategy to incorporate EVs into layered systems, demonstrating successful integration and compatibility with cellular environments.

Postdoctoral researcher Dr. William Meza presented his research during the Cardiovascular, Renal, and Metabolic Pathologies session at ISEV 2026. His work, “Saliva-derived endothelial extracellular vesicle biomarkers detected by electrochemical sensing,” describes the development of a sensitive biosensor capable of detecting EV-associated markers using minimal sample volumes for non-invasive diagnostics.
PhD student María del Carmen Ramos Álamo presented her research during the Characterization session at ISEV 2026. Her work explores how extracellular vesicle cargo varies across tissues using a multi-omic approach that integrates proteomic and miRNA profiling, revealing tissue-specific signatures alongside a conserved EV core.
Master’s student Valeria De La Rosa presented her research during the poster session at ISEV 2026. Her work, “Scaling the Harnessing of Extracellular Vesicles from Flasks to Cell Manufacturing–Relevant Bioreactors,”focuses on advancing scalable EV production by transitioning from traditional flask-based systems to bioreactor platforms for cell manufacturing applications.
